But the grandmasters are more vocal in getting their opinions across. :-) The phenomenon is completely general. You have to use your own knowledge and attitudes to draw conclusions, and it's extremely difficult to take into account your level of ignorance. That's why every chess player thinks he's underrated: he can see mistakes his opponents make, and he can't see his own mistakes. It's also why people often find members of other political parties stupid, and a million other things. Jay
