Just curious I recently purchased Rebel >and was interested in watching on the ICC. People have bought copies of Rebel9 and run them manually on ICC. They do it the hard way, by sitting there entering moves into Rebel, and sending Rebel's moves back to ICC. This is a painful process, and all sorts of bad things can happen. The program's time control system doesn't get a chance to work, since it's hard to synchronize time with ICC time. The operator sometimes makes mistakes, which may not be correctable, if the opponent doesn't allow a takeback. The operator wastes a few seconds per move transferring moves back and forth. Some of the operators overrule the programs from time to time, which may help or hurt apparent program strength. "Lonnie" has run Rebel9, I believe, but he changes programs so much you'd be hard pressed to know what he's running on any given move of a game. bruce
