1.6M is a little money?
I doubt it.

I think it is a good money that top programmers are going
to be happy to earn from their programs.

I doubt if there is one chess programmer who expect to earn 1.6M$
in the future from computer chess and remember that you need to divide money
that you get in the future because 10,000$ in 2010 is worse than
10,000$ of today.
