The semi-professional category is a little unclear if you use the Maastricht
definition IMO. It would be easier if contained all those that don't have their
primary income from chess programming. You could include the academia here as
well. That would leave amateurs as the persons, who haven't seen a dime and the
pros as the persons who wants to see as many as possible to get food on the
table.
