It wasn’t meant to be increased, but there could have been something hiding in
there since I was pretty tired of waiting for a fix in CA5.1 that was promised
in May 2000, and later postponed to June, and later … , well I don’t see it
still on the site.

Hopefully you are not a beta tester for finding bugs then.
