It was no real point. Just another remark. I think, we agree in all points.
I probably just would formulate it a bit different. I think, it is pure tactics,
not so much king safety. The KS values should give hints, I think. But only the
tactics can really solve this.
I guess many engines may find a 0.0 score after Kd6 and after Ke8 for a while.
The one, that is tried first, will be choosen. If an engine smells a bit trouble
after Kd6 early (say slightly negative score), of course Ke8 will be choosen.
Then eventually a big fail low comes. An engine, that chooses to solve the fail
low first, before trying other moves, will need lots of time for this as well.
All a matter of a few centi pawns in evaluation. The same may be true for
finding f3 after Ke8.
