No
I think that you overestimate the book.
I guess that only 20% of the improvent is because of book when
80% is for evaluation function and better search rules.

I ignore learning but I believe that even without learning
the difference between Genius3 and Deep Fritz at slow time control
is at least 200 elo (I believe that the difference becomes bigger
when the time control is slower).

Note that it is hard to say how much for better search rules
because better evaluation may be connected to being better in tactics.

The idea of null move pruning is also based on evaluation.
If you have a bad evaluation you are going to see less real threats
and it means that null move pruning is going to prune more good lines.
