Subject: Beowulf 1.6d

The tweaked version I made was 25% faster than Colin's...
At getting the wrong answer.
:-(

The new version now actually computes the right moves instead of silly ones.

My apologies to everyone who downloaded something that was not quite ready yet.

Here is Colin's new source code base:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/new-approach/beowulf-orig.zip

Here is the same source code base after some {slightly less} bletcherous hacks
{in that these actually work} for a tiny fragment of speed:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/new-approach/BEOWULF.ZIP

Here is the binary produced by the above for Athlon or PIII and above
processors:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/new-approach/beowulf.exe

Here is a "ChessFun" clone personality (Material only -- only works with the
hacked version because of large swings in material value):
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/new-approach/beo-fun.dat

Here are versions of Beowulf for older processors:
