As far as I understood the auhors want to demonstrate something they call their
"genetic algorithms".

There are several clients which run on users computer to play chess and to work
on standard poblems. This standard problems (and the solutions) are interchanged
with a central "statistical unit" (similar to this SEITI@home project). The user
clients seems to have different evaluation functions. The solutions of the
standard problems are analysed by the "statistical unit" and by this way the
better group of clients are selected.

The pages of this project are still under construction, so the desciption will
possibly change in the future. There is also an English version announced to
come.
