Bob Green posts in r.g.c.c.

I think that nothing is served by this kind of post. If someone says something
weird here, the initial thought is always, "This could be Sean or Chris, watch
out." But that doesn't mean that this, or something like this, should be
*posted*.

Anyone can do a degree of checking for themselves. You can see the email
address, and you can go search Google. When people post before doing this it
makes us all seem paranoid. And really, you shouldn't be making this kind of
post unless you are a moderator (and probably not even then).

Which reminds me that I promised to nominate *you* for moderator, so with some
luck I can pay you back a little bit.

To Mr. Green: I don't know if you are familiar with the early history of CCC,
but CCC was founded to get away from Rolf and a few others, so I hope that you
can understand the kind of reaction you are likely to receive if you start
talking about nominating him to moderate.

To those who want to have a cow because of this: If you want the group to be
moderated the way you want it to be moderated, volunteer to do it yourself. If
you can't or won't do this, and I think that it is pretty weak not to if you
have been a regular poster for a long time and have never done it, at least vote
for people who a) you think would be good moderators, and b) you think would
work well together.

I'm comforted by the knowledge that regardless of what happens, this group will
get the kind of moderators that it deserves.
