The war of processors between AMD and Intel remid me about two main methods to impove chess: invest the efforts in the search (more depth) or in evaluation (more knowledge). It is likely that Intel is "searching" deeper than AMD, which in turn, is having more knowledge in evaluation function. From the computer chess views, I think that AMD has chosen smarter way to go, and Intel has chosen a harder way to compete with AMD. Just a thought for fun :) On September 02, 2001 at 10:07:33, Aaron Tay wrote: >Sorry if this is a old question. > >But does the Athlon thunderbird 1.4 GHZ still out perform the P4 2.0 GHZ in for >Chess programs?
