It's just a lower micron version of the P3 with 512k L2 cache (I think some
versions come with 256K L2). Mhz for Mhz (and if the L2 cache is the same) it
should be the exact speed of a P3. I've seen benchmarks of a 1.4Ghz Tbird up
against a Tulatin at 1.46GHz (512k l2) and the Thunderbird 1.4 beat it by a good
margin. Whats pretty interesting is dual Tulatins beat dual P4-Xeon systems so I
don't think we'll be seeing any of those anytime too soon. Intel will try and
squeeze as much money out of the P4 as possible.. once the P4's get crank up
well over 2GHz I'm sure we'll start seeing a lot of Tulatins as intel's 'value'
cpu.
