It sounds like many different people having amd and intel have had problems so
the question is What setup do you go for which is both fast and Solid?
Seeing how both AMD and Intel have not-so-common Power supply's and the heat
generated creats most of the problems, What are the options?

The industry creats things on different motherboards that are supposed to be
brand new technology , this stuff is supposed to be so new and so great that you
should go right out and buy it.

Audio Modem Riser for example, you probably have this on a sigle cpu system
board but where are the parts to use this slot??? The Motherboard makers are
trying to give forward and backward compatability and this is a huge part of the
problem. Tyan or whoever else will venture to make dual athlons should've only
used DDR chipsets (the P4 has one already Socket 478) they should be using SCSI
or if there is somthing better ... The power supply 460w is this supposed to be
what all computers from now on will use?

when Athlons first came out 300 was what was reccomended so for 2 hard drives, a
cr-rom drive, dvd, cdrw, video card, cpu, modem, floppy, and sound card this is
10w each (which is not accurate as some cpus use 30w)so i can see needing to use
over 300 but why 460? Maybe someone can give me the run down of how much each
component uses in their dual system.

The Itaniums are much worse and one thing i don't understand is why run at
100Mhz FSB when you have things like DDR out? I looked at the spec results for
this and other machines and this one beats out even the 8-way P3 Xeons i think
in all but 3 or 4 tests. There are other options like beowolf but they are more
expensive than the dual systems .
