Thanks I've read this already....taking it with a grain of salt. The P4 will be run at speeds of 10Ghz before they "top out"!:) I suspect AMD's 64/IA will be costly and like the Itanium, not optimized for 32/IA, which means if the programmers don't make 64 bit ver. of their software I doubt the 64 bit chips will improve the performance of the current 32 bit programmes. This was discussed sometime back by Dr. Hyatt and others, in regards to Intel's Itanium Processor.
