The effective speedup (for Crafty) is generally speedup = 1 + .7 * (NCPUS - 1) I don't know that that will hold up for large numbers of processors without doing some testing, of course. It has been reasonable for up to 32 however, based on T90 numbers I got a couple of years back. (and based on C90 numbers I published in the JICCA also).
