my 1400 t-bird reads this on the core:
A1400AMS3C
AYHJA 0125UPNW
Y6492230454
1999 AMD
my AYHJA has a longer horizontal dimension.
you will notice in the pictures that the t-bird, including the
AYHJA core, has a longer horizontal dimension. the mp core
has a longer vertical dimension. pictures can be found at
anandtech, below. i know it is not clear, but i magnified
the t-bird and it is an AYHJA core.

here you can see the revisions that were added to the AYHJA CORE.
www.athlonoc.com/AYHJAp2.php
here you can see the revisions that were added to the mp core.

revisions are not the same.
here is another good example:
i also have a 1 gig axia. this core is longer horizontally, and looks the
same as my AYHJA when i hold them beside each other. here is a good
picture of a t-bird axia beside an mp.

also the current draw could be monitored while the percent of cpu usage was
at say 95%. in this test, the palomino at 95% cpu usage, the current
should be considerably less (about 15%), when compared to the
standard t-bird AYHJA core, with the same 95% cpu usage.
