Be4 is a bad move. 37.Qb6 is winning there because it goes to a won
opposite bishops endgame (if you toss pieces with black) which directly
explains why some programs want to make this move.

Just tune higher in crafty for example opposite bishops, recompile and you'll
see.

Diep 1997 wanted to play Be4 too up to 10 plies. from 11 ply and further
it preferred the better Qb6. Nowadays version has better opposite bishop
code and prefers Qb6 pretty soon.

There is only one shot in the deep blue - kasparov games (there are
many in the log files visible though) and that's
in game 6 where DB played Bf5! winning a queen.

IN contradiction to what some non-analyzing dudes post here, nearly
all programs play that move after seeing the same tactical line.

Deep Blue plays it at 8(6).
