Subject: Re: Interesting king security position (The King 2.54)

Go up one level in this thread

Here's what a nice guy sent me by email:

KING 2.54 (AMDK6-233) tried Bxa8 for only 24 seconds and switched then
immediately to 26.g4

0:24 3/7 3.53 g4
0:40 3/8 3.48 g4
1:46 4/9 3.66 g4

So DeKonings program clearly is the winner up to now.
(both with CM 5000 and The King)

Only in this position, of course.
So no reason to get heated, Thorsten and Moritz :-)

There's still *many* positions and prizes. :-)

Thorsten, you are right: this is about tactics *and* king safety.
Moritz, you are right: no reason to ridicule Bob or even his program.
(It's quite good in this position, and CSTal not yet)

So let's not debate about Chris jumping on Bob.
We already had Chris' "Hyattian devorce"

- not to raise anger -> Steely Dan %-))) -

Let's rather debate how a program like CSTal might
get past all these obstacles (like check and a nice silent move).
Would be great if it would find an own way of getting through that in a
new version! Why not?

So let's calm down and have fun in chess...
Including Chris working on CSTal.

Yours Dirk
