some of the guys are hand lapping the surface of the processor and/or surface of their cooler. some need it some dont. it is the same thing robert used to do when he was in high school, we used to hand lap valves is internal combustion engines. makes the two mating surfaces get along better. supposedly better heat transfer, through a better "lapped" contact area. doesnt matter, i think it should be ok with running a stock 1400 mhz. sounds like yours is running cool, if it is stable running each processor at 80%+. so i wont worry about this. but thanks for the info, kburcham
