Subject: Comparison between a 900MHz Pentium III and a 900MHz Celeron?

Given these two processors (and the MHz chosen is arbitrary), how much weaker
will the Celeron be?  Can anyone give any specifics?

I'm thinking of getting a new computer soon and would love the portability
factor of a laptop, and only the cooler chips like the celeron are in those.
