I will use prices found at www.pricewatch.com, in US Dollars, _including_
shipping.

I couldn't immediately find a price, and of course I don't have any idea what
kind of CPU cooler you are looking at. $36 seems quite reasonable, so I will
leave it.

You didn't specify which one (there are 3 models - I chose the S2462UNG, which
is the middle one - it has SCSI support. The S2462NG can be gotten for $360.)

>19 inch Iiyama HA901D 3 jaar on-site garantuee = 450

Your price of 667 Euro is horrendously expensive for a 19" monitor. Since I
can't find any reference to the model number HA901D (either on Pricewatch or on
Iiyama's own website) I picked the Iiyama A902MT 19". If I chose a different
19" monitor, the price could be as low as $200.

I'm not sure why you even need this anymore, but the price is so low it doesn't
matter anyway.

>Addtronics 7890A server case (bit bigger than bigtwr) = 145

One of the recommended cases from the Tyan K7 Thunder page is the Antec SX800.
I can get it for $65. The Evercase ECS5000 _with_ the special 460W Power Supply
is a little more than $200. I leave your price of $145 because that's about the
same prices I find for the same case you mention.

>PSU 460 watts = 102

This price is for the "NMB MP SD025A460WSW AMD Palomino Power Supply 460W
PS2-180 Tyan S2462". It includes shipping. This is one of the recommended
power supplies from Tyan's K7 Thunder page.

Total: $2018. If I pick a more reasonable case/monitor/etc. this goes down to
$1650 or so. Is this not close enough to $1500 to suit your taste? Knock off
your expensive cordless mouse/keyboard, and you're below $1600. There are a
couple of other minor things that can be reduced slightly, but this is enough
for me.

No, 20GB is plenty, and you can get a 7200RMP 20GB drive for $85, which would
reduce my system price to right about $1500, when you take my other reductions
into account.

You can get a Logitech optical mouse for $20. A decent keyboard (which _will_
last a decent amount of time) costs about $20 as well. Even if it fails, it's
not like it causes the end of the world.

Ok, add $120 for a GeForce 2 GTS Pro 64MB card.

SoundBlaster Live! for $32.

This depends on what software you're looking for, and what you don't have
already. I would think most people building a computer already have most
software they need, from a previous computer. If not, there _are_ cheaper
software solutions available (Linux, etc.) than MS software. In any case,
adding software has nothing to do with physically building the machine.
