Today I bought chessmaster 8000, this is my first chessmaster version after 4000b. I just installed it and started a tourny already. few problems, 1) chessmaster doesnt seem to read pgn files? 2) you cant make chessmaster analyze position on unlimited time, you have to give a fixed time. 3) xboard personality cant play rated games? 4) cant resize chess boards (very sad). 5) so far all the winboard engines that I have tried works with chessmaster other than crafty, dunno whats wrong (probabl my fault). I havent tried the patches yet, so dont know yet how many problems will be solved with the patches. questions. 1) The king engine under winboard crippled to 2-3 depths, is it possible to resolve this problem? 2) Is the winboard adapter of chessmaster as reliable as winboard as far as the performance of the engines are concerned, or is it crippled like running winboard engines under fritz6? thanks for any help, more questions will be coming up soon. ;) pavs
