Not only does it fix MANY bugs, but it also adds/enhances a few features. THIS IS IMPERATIVE! To answer your problems: 1) CM reads PGN files just fine, AFAIK. 2) If you want to analyze for an indefinite time, just set the time control to Infinite, set both players to be human players, and check the "Chessmaster" checkbox in the "Thinking Lines" window. This will allow you to see in-game analysis on any position you want in the game for as long as you want to leave it there. 3) Correct. There is no way for CM to know the rating of a Winboard engine. However, this ability is going to be added in the next version of Chessmaster. 4) The only board that is resizeable (sp?) is the "Custom Board". All other boards are of fixed size. 5) I would estimate that at least 90% of Winboard engines currently available will (at a minimum) play chess properly in the CM GUI. Of course, many of them will not support some of the more esoteric features of the program. Be sure to read the CM8000 FAQ that is also on the website. You can get to it by going to www.chessmaster.com/faqs8000.html. To answer your questions: 1) This "problem" has been solved. But, to be honest, I can't remember where the (somewhat complicated) directions can be found. Somebody else here will know, though. 2) The performance is perfectly reliable. The CM GUI treats all WB engines identically, and The King is just another WB engine. jm
