I took his idea, and now I am using some extensions for the transition into pawn endgames. However, it is not totally unproblematic, and may need some preprocessing, especially, when doing such long extensions, as you suggest. Yace uses null move pruning in queen endgames and rook endgames. This often yields in a small branching factor for those endgames. Pawn endgames, where Yace does not use null moves can have a bigger branching factor, when there are many unblocked pawns. This would mean, that really a lot of time is needed for such a big extension. Perrhaps, one could try to use null move in unblocked pawn endgames. Is anybody doing this? Regards, Dieter
