So why don't the organisers use "concern for safety" rather than "respect for victims" as the reason for postponement? I agree with Sarah's post - The organisers of Kramnik-Fritz are actually showing complete disrespect for the victims of the terror attack by using it as an excuse to make a financially motivated business decision. A more apropriate "sign of respect" would be a minute's silence at the start of the match, and maybe a donation of part of the prize fund to a fund for victims of the terror attack. Bob's idea of moving the match sounds sensible to me too - especially since there's talk of a long-term campaign by the US against the terrorists responsible for the attacks, suggesting that Bahrain may not be a suitable venue for quite some time, possibly years.
