Apparently, the special P4 build does not seem to add anything to the
performance.  From what I am hearing from those who have tried it, there is no
real increase in performance.

Using the Intel compiler with /G7 /QxW is supposed to create better binaries for
that platform.  Looks like a bust so far.  I probably will have to do PGO.
Unfortunately, while we have P4 chips, I don't have one connected to my list of
computers I can switch to using my OmniView switch.  So I would have to go use
someone else's terminal to mess around.

Looks like this experiment fell on its face.
