I estimate around 1700 Elo but it's difficult to say for sure. FIDE Elo is
different from USCF Elo..is different from Yahoo Elo...etc.etc.

Certainly, Touch Chess is "in the range" of 1500-1700 Elo. I highly recommend
it if you don't need a stronger program. If you do need a stronger program I
highly recommend a Palm computer with Chess Tiger loaded.

I'm starting to evaluate ChessGenius (for the Palm). It may be pretty strong
but it sure doesn't have the depth of features and function found in Chess
Tiger.

Still, I'm very impressed with what Richard Lang has done with ChessGenius. I'm
extremely impressed with what Ron Nelson had done with the little "custom chip"
that goes into many of the Excalibur products. Touch Chess for instance, runs
on a 6 Mhz processor with (I believe) only 16K of ROM and 256 bytes of RAM!

The Excalibur units are my personal favorites, though most of those in this
forum would prefer the strongest and most flexible program. To me, in a Palm
handheld, this honor easily goes to Christophe Theron's Chess Tiger.
