As of September 29th until October 3rd there will be an interesting computerchess event in Germany. In the German capital in a room of one of their universities ( FU) there will be a little dream come true - another computerchess tournament :-) . Although Berlin is out of reach for most of you probably some additional information and advertisement ;) Wanna meet this cool chess programmer guys IRL ? Share thoughts with them ? In Berlin you will be able to meet Thomas Mayer(Quark) , Stefan Knappe ( Matador) , Roland Pfister ( Patzer) , Vincent Diepeveen ( Diep) , Jochen Preussner ( Neurologic ) ( and the spelling looks messed up somehow again ) and Gerd Isenberg with IsiChess. If you plan on a visit you might even serve as a helper ?? :-) Definitely interested ! Current list of participants : Participants List Program Status Country Programmer 1.Gambit-Tiger single Guadeloupe Christophe Theron 2.Rebel-Century single Netherlands Ed Schröder 3.Patzer multi-processor Germany Roland Pfister 4.Diep multi-processor Netherlands Vincent Diepeveen 5.Zarkov single USA John Stanback 6.Eugen single Spain Eugenio Castillo 7.Matador single Germany Stefan Knappe 8.Bringer single Germany Gerrit Reubold 9.Yace single Germany Dieter Buerssner 10.Quark single Germany Thomas Mayer 11.Isichess single Germany Gerd Isenberg 12.Neurologic single Germany Jochen Peussner It's not to late to even enter the event for yourself with another competitor: if you are a programmer or a manifacturer , able and willing to make a trip to Berlin and you never knew about the tourn but still want to be part of it just drop me an email. If the event is a success there will be more of them - on a yearly basis. More information like adresses, events, rules etc ? Have a look at the webpages : http://www.rebel.nl/lasker.htm and http://members.aol.com/mclanecxantia/myhomepage/1belct2001.html (provided by Thorsten Czub, the godfather of the event :-) ) See you . pete
