Not at all. Nxh7 is a MUCH better move. Not that e6 is not winning, it's just doesn't gain what Nxh7 does, which is a rook. If you follow your eval: 1. e6 Bxe6 2. Nxe6 fxe6 3. Qc4 Qd8 4. Qxe6+ Kh8 5. Rxf8+ Qxf8 6. Rf1 Bf6 7. Bg5 Kg7 8. Rf2 Qf7 vs. 1. Nxh7 Kxh7 2.Rxf7 Rxf7 3.Qh5+ Kg8 4.Bxg6 Be6 5.Qh7+ Kf8 6.Bh6 Ke8 7.Qxg7 a5 8.Rf1 axb4 9.Bxf7+ Kd7 10.Bxe6+ Kxe6 or at best: 1. Nxh7 Na6 2.Nxf8 Rxf8 3.h4 Be8 4.Bg5 Qd8 5.b5 Nc7 6.bxc6 Bxc6 7.Bxc6 bxc6 If you'd like proof, setup Crafty in this position, and make the move Nxh7, and watch every move fail. I guarentee you'll get a bigger eval for white when it makes its move (probably Na6), than e6 got. Slate
