Hi Enrique,

Since I am a candidate it's probably appropriate that I post my
opinion here. First of all, I want to break this down into two
separate issues.

A) Are these posts appropriate?

B) What to do about them if anything?

--------------------------------------------------------------

A) No, these posts are completely inappropriate. Most of us
have the reasonable expectation to read about computer
chess, especially in a moderated newsgroup.

B) What to do about these posts? Probably nothing. Asking people
nicely to change their behavior rarely works. In my experience,
they will find some point of contention (in this case they
might cry censorship and try to rally around this "cause"
to fight back.) Most of us are not here to fight or
get political, so we can simply tolerate them unless a true
   problem emerges.

I DO expect the newsgroup to be strongly focused on computer chess.
If anyone does not feel the same, do not vote for me as a moderator,
because I will always lean in this direction.
