I find that Deep Fritz can get positional score of more than 26 pawns and Crafty can get a positional score of more than 37 pawns. Here is the proof Deep Fritz certainly does not see a promotion at depth 1/2 but the score is 34.44 pawns for white 8 pawns for white is the material score and it means that the positional score is 26.44 pawns New position [D]8/8/PPPPPPPP/8/8/4K3/8/4k3 w - - 0 1 Analysis by Deep Fritz: 1.h7! +- (31.63) Depth: 1/1 00:00:00 1.h7! +- (34.44) Depth: 1/2 00:00:00 1.h7 Kd1 +- (34.63) Depth: 2/3 00:00:00 1.h7! +- (34.94) Depth: 3/4 00:00:00 1.h7! It seems that Diep is no exception and other programs can have even higer positional scores New position 8/8/PPPPPPPP/8/8/4K3/8/4k3 w - - 0 1 Analysis by Crafty 18.10: 1.h7 Kf1 +- (45.31) Depth: 1/2 00:00:00 1.h7 Kf1 +- (45.71) Depth: 2/3 00:00:00 1.h7 Kd1 2.h8Q +- (50.58) Depth: 2/3 00:00:00 1.h7 Kd1 2.a7 Kc2 3.a8Q +- (50.91) Depth: 3/5 00:00:00 1.h7 Kd1 2.c7 Ke1 3.h8Q Kd1 +- (51.09) Depth: 4/8 00:00:00 1.h7 Kd1 2.c7 Ke1 3.h8Q Kd1 +- (51.49) Depth: 5/9 00:00:00 1.h7 Kd1 2.h8Q Kc2 3.a7 Kc3 4.a8Q +- (53.86) Depth: 5/9 00:00:00 1.a7 +- (54.26) Depth: 5/9 00:00:00 1.a7 Kf1 2.a8Q Kg2 3.h7 Kg3 4.h8Q +- (54.31) Depth: 5/9 00:00:00 1.a7 Kf1 2.a8Q Kg2 3.h7 Kg3 4.h8Q +- (54.71) Depth: 6/11 00:00:00 63kN 1.a7 Kf1 2.a8Q Kg2 3.c7+ Kg1 4.h7 Kh2 5.h8Q+ Kg3 +- (54.80) Depth: 6/11 00:00:00 91kN 1.a7 Kf1 2.a8Q Kg2 3.c7+ Kg1 4.h7 Kh2 5.h8Q+ Kg3 +- (55.20) Depth: 7/14 00:00:01 240kN 1.a7 Kd1 2.c7 Kc2 3.c8Q+ Kb1 4.b7 Ka2 5.a8Q+ Kb1 6.b8Q# +- (#6) Depth: 7/14 00:00:02 680kN 1.d7 Kd1 2.b7 Kc1 3.d8Q Kb1 4.b8Q+ Ka1 5.Qa5# +- (#5) Depth: 7/14 00:00:03 1322kN 1.d7 Kd1 2.b7 Kc1 3.d8Q Kb1 4.b8Q+ Ka1 5.Qa5# +- (#5) Depth: 8/18 00:00:10 3830kN (Blass, Tel-aviv 25.09.2001) Uri
