I agree. lots of heat. lots of moving air. more fan noise. higher electric bill, lots of issues to get over---but the challenge is fun playing with this hardware. you wouldnt believe the super parts i have put back in the original packaging, and each of my home pcs has a large rubbermaid box full of spare parts in the closet. some of these parts would make someone a great pc. for example when the 1550 palomino comes out, i think both of us will have spare 1400 t-birds. i think the asus smp palomino board with 3000+ mhz should be strong. this workstation should reach depths close to 20 in not too much time. what are you doing with all your spare parts after your upgrades? kburcham
