I received a debug file from KK, and it has some interesting stuff in it. I'm going to clip the relevant part and include it below with comments inserted and indented to separate them from the text. Note that Crafty is "first" (playing black) and Comet is "second" playing white... Sending to first: d4d5 Received from first: Hint: O-O Received from first: 5 -42 111 14055 11. ... Crafty played exd5, after searching to a depth of 6 plies, and is expecting Qxd5 as a reply. It sent the proper string to winboard "11. ... e6d5" which was the move it wanted to play. Interrupting second Sending to second: time 19182otim 14399 Sending to second: e6d5 Received from second: 11. e6d5 this doesn't look so good. Comet echoed crafty's move. I don't know that this causes a problem, but look below... I don't know. Either this is a problem caused by the echo of the opponent's move by Comet (which is not needed) or it is a bug in winboard. I'll send a note to Tim Mann to let him look... but clearly something is wrong...
