There seem to be a million places to play chess online.  I'm confused.

Is there a site that shows the relative features, GUIs, and strengths/weaknesses
of such sites as ICC, FICS, Chess.net, USChessLive, Pogo, Playsite, and all the
other sites where you can play chess online?  Or does anybody want to take a
shot at explaining?
