The reason I buy chess software is to play chess.
I will never be able to beat any of the current chess programs.
Nor do I get much enjoyment playing them because of this;except for Chess
Master.In my case CM7.
Unlike the others,in my opion,CM's levels are more subtle and allow a
better "fit" . Yes on certain levels CM hangs pieces.I do it all the time.
For a player of my level 1650/1700 CM is a joy to play.
Now,of course the current crop of strength,come what may,chess engines are also
needed.
I use F5.32 to analyse my games.And because of this I have definately improved.
I hope to see versions of these very strong engines adapted more and more for
pure analysis.
My wish: Develop more programs like Chess Master with a view to just playing
"everbody" chess but also develop the stronger programs for pure
analysis.
