Thanks to Thorsten, Peter, Ingo and Heiner to make the First Berliner Emanuel Lasker Computer Chess Tournament a big success. But also to the programming participians Roland with Patzer, Thomas with Quark, Jochen with Neurologic, Stefan with Matador and Heiner again as the author of Chest. Very relaxed atmosphere, a lot of fun, interesting games and discussions and my first trip to Berlin since 82. Thorsten managed to get excellent hardware sponsorship by AMD (four 1,4G singles and two duals)! As a prologue Prof. Roja from the Free University in Berlin, where the tournament took place, gave an interesting lession about Zuses "Plan Kalkuel" with some sample source lines of "Zuse Chess". Congrats to Cristophe - five points out of seven with at least two none optimal book lines - respect, but also to Ed, Dieter and of course Roland for the best program operated by the programmer himself. After Isis support with a loosing blunder against Yace and a lucky book draw against Tiger in the last round, i was a bit disappointed, that Yace didn“t manage to win the tournament ;-) I hope we meet next year in Berlin again may be with a few more. Gerd
