He must joke. Ask hime for showing some envidences, for example, some pieces of
search or eval code ;-)

I think 4 weeks may be enough for chopping them from other programs but never
enough for debugging any one of those functions. For 2600 elo, I believe he has
to spend at least 4 years.

Perhaps, we should understand his meaning: build==compile and he meant he was
successful to compile himself an existing engine. Actually, I have also spent
about 4 weeks to compile successfully Crafty by VC6 for first time.
