I guess his statements might be correct if: 1) "to have built the engine..." could mean he did "nmake /f Makefile.nt" using Crafty source. 2) "it is 100% original" could mean he did not change anything. 3) "made within 4 weeks" could mena that he did not know how to use a makefile but he figured it out eventually. Did he actually say "he designed and implemented a chess playing program"? Most of the "own" chess playing programs are copies of already existing programs. But mostly, they play weaker than the "originals". 4 weeks is way to less to really implement a chess program. But it is plenty of time to copy Crafty and make some small modifications. Gregor
