Go up one level in this thread
Chaps, From my innocent 'what happened in the PDA tournament' there seems to have been a few 'flame' type responses in the thread. Let's cool down a little!! I think everyone who posted is interested in PDA chess but from different angles. For myself, and I suspect Ian, we're just fans of the platform. My frustration, and maybe Ian's, comes from not being able to play the programs against each other (I don't have two PocketPCs or two Palms) so I don't really know the real strength differences. So a tournament like this is of real interest. From Christophe point of view he's created a great program but I guess he's sensitive to being accused of being too commercial - well I don't blame him - it's his livelihood - I'd be as commercial as hell if I were him. Then there is Thorston who organised the tournament - we do appreciate this Thorston. It's not his fault that Genius didn't want to play - that was not public knowledge at the time - a big thanks to him!! So hopefully no hard feeling all round - and long live PDA chess! Regards, Steve PS Christophe - will be see PocketPC Tiger by Chrtistmas - can't wait?
