The Chessmaster 8000 FAQ (which you can read by going to www.chessmaster.com/faqs8000.html) covers the question of how the personalities got their ratings pretty thoroughly. But, I'll give the short answer here: all human vs. comp and comp vs. comp games that were played to get the ratings (almost 14,000 games total) were played at Fischer 5/10. However, the personality that you give in your example, Max, is one of the few personalities that will play identically no matter WHAT the time control is. I'll leave it as an exercise to the user to discover why.... As far as how to mathematically adjust rating points based on time control differences, I have no idea if there is an accepted formula. jm
