I would advise that if you have an interest in chess then the choice will probably be between a Palm and an iPAQ (I have both). If you want a pocket chess companion but also an address book and diary then I'd go for a Palm. If you want the strongest portable chess computer then I'd go for the iPAQ (although I'd wait for the new one which is released this month or possibly the new Jornada). The Palm is more useable as a PDA but the 206 MHz StrongArm processor and extra memory gives the iPAQ the edge in terms of playing strength. Regards, Steve Maughan
