A lot of the handheld computers now use RISC chips at around 75MHz. Maybe MIPS clones and Hitachis. This includes the Windows CE computers. Most of the better dedicated chess computers, including pocket ones, now also run RISC chips, but at 40MHz or less as far as i know. Maybe that's a factor of 10 to 20 below a fast Alpha. Of course they also have a lot less RAM than a fast Alpha, and a relatively small ROM for opening book instead of a huge disc, and no endgame table-bases.
