I use version 18.11.
DO_NULL and NO_NULL are defined in chess.h.
The problem I mentioned is discussed elsewhere in this thread.
I use something like
if (null_min <= null_max && null_max > INCPLY){
if (do_null && !tree->in_check[ply]) {
...
}
}
in search.c to skip null-move, but you will find a better way to do.
My example above showes that Crafty is not able to find the right move
which is Bc6 even with sel=0/0. That proves something to be wrong.
BTW I don't like any discussion "how to make crafty weaker".
The only usefull discussion is "how to make crafty stronger" and
"how to make crafty richer in features and better"
