Petr (Petrovich on ICC) told me once that Shredder on my 2x1.7Ghz played like a 1200. I've also been told that the same program has played like a 2700+. You just have to get a program in its domain, to get it to play like a powerhouse. But for the most part, it's pretty easy for GM's to get a program to play in THEIR domains, getting the computer to play 2100 or below moves. I think *OVERALL* most commercial programs, on current HW are of GM strength. But I think overall, we have sometime before a commercial program can sit across from a world champ, or super GM, and pose a *serious* threat. IMO. Slate
