I was just testing out a new machine at work (lots of CPU and RAM crunching) to make sure it wasn't overheating or had bad ram or stuff, so I let Crafty 18.9 (from the Mandrake-Linux 8.1 distribution) run for a day analyzing the initial position. In case anybody is curious, it came up with depth=19 1/20 +0.10 1. e4 e6 2. Nf3 d5 3. exd5 exd5 4. d4 Nf6 5. Bb5+ c6 6. Bd3 Be7 7. O-O O-O 8. Re1 Na6 9. Qe2 Re8 10. Bf4 Bg4 Time: 22:06:50.95 (Athlon 1400). The reported NPS is only 28500 or so, indicating that the node counter has rolled over. I don't recall what it normally was, but it was >=500000. Dave
