I wonder if the SSDF is playing without tablebases ?
I know that some of you own Shredder 5 - the collection of 5-men tablebases
shipped with it is quite good in my opinion and fits the needs of most engines
best. I think the collection is better then the chessbase endgame turbo.
Some differences:

The Shredder collection is chosen by Stefan Mayer-Kahlen - he has not looked at
which 5-men did happen most of the time in human games, instead he has taken
those endgames which are the most complicated for programs to understand...
Chessbase did it the other way, they look through there database and add the
types which occur the most. I think the way SMK does it is better...

Greets, Thomas

P.S.: Anyway you can create the 5-men - as far as I know it takes about 2 weeks
on a PII/400... so with some luck on your Athlon 1200 only some days... :)
