I believe that you do not mean to the right position
after Qxe6 fxe6 Nxe6+ Qxe6 white can safely resign

The main line of your program probably started with Qxe6 Qxe6 and in this case
2.Nxe6 is the right move

The reason for 3...Ke8 is clear
3..fxg6 is illegal move after 1...fxe6 and I think that this reason is good
enough to avoid 3...fxg6
