There's quite an easy way to do this, if you have an old openings book
available. I recommend Fritz 4's book, Fritz4.fbk.

1. Start Fritz 6 and create a new openings book
File --> New --> Openings Book
Choose a suitable name for your new book, like "Fritz4". ".ctg" is the
default extension.

2. Import the old openings book
Edit --> Openings Book --> Import Old Book
   and select the file Fritz4.fbk

That's all. You now have a new openings book called Fritz4.ctg, which is based
on Fritz4.fbk but has no priority information. Turn off the "Tournament Book"
option, and you'll find Fritz will play one of 12 opening moves with
approximately equal probability (varying between 8.2%and 8.5% probability). The
rest of the moves in the openings book are also given equal priority. You might
want to delete some of the moves in the first two plies of the opening book to
remove the openings you REALLY don't want to play. (Right click on the moves in
the book window, etc).

Best wishes,

Mike :)
