Steve,
I have purchased from ICD the Fidelity Mach 111(which I later sold),and
then the Mephisto Vancouver 16 bit wooden board (At that time I stopped doing
everthing to be able to afford this machine).I still have it and will never
sell.Sure glad I bought it.
It is just better playing chess on a real board.
However I will not purchase another dedicated chess machine(now have four
of'em). They do not show enough information and therefore not adequate for
training.Just playing chess. Also the board size is often too small.
These days I play on a large size wooden chess board against all my computer
buddys.Dedicated and software.
But the software programs are better because they show a wealth of information
and are therefore exellent for training and analysis.
I have improved much more using software than with the dedicated machines.
Dedicated may be a fad but the future is with the software - I think.
