It just makes clutter for me. You can do this by doing the following: "Preferences -> Wallpaper", then select "Use Gradient". You can then select any two colors (which can both be the same, obviously) to create "a pleasing effect". :-) If, by "remove it altogether", you'd like a black screen, just make both colors all zeroes, and you're done. jm
